The prerequisite when installing SharePoint 2010 RC will not tell you that you need SQL Server 2008 SP1 CU2. However, when you run the Configuration Wizard and try to create the database, it will fail.
I think if you have SQL Server 2008 R2 you will not the CU2.
You can download the CU2 package from here.
I'm right now 9 minutes into the 20 minute download.
If I find any more hiccups, I will report those.
